In their homeland of Germany, Tokio Hotel are icons. Actually, they’re mega icons.
All of their four singles have hit the number one spot as did their debut album, Scream, which has now notched up 10 x platinum sales across the world. Which is a helluva lot.
In central Europe, they’ve sold 2.5 million records. Which is also a helluva lot.
Even live, they kick ass. Their debut tour was a 43 date sell out and they played to over 400,000 screaming fans.
But don’t take our word for it because the world has spoken and here are a few of the awards that are now decorating mantelpieces of the band’s homes.
"Best Newcomer 2005" - Echo Awards (German equivalent of the BRITS)
"Best Newcomer 2006" - MTV France
"Best Selling German Act 2006" - World Music Awards
"Best Selling German Act 2006" - European Border Breaker Awards
“Best Video for ‘The Last Day’ 2007” – Echo Awards
